The central nervous system as a natural precedent for AI: structure and function of the neuron and neural networks; sensors and actuators; modular brain func- tion. The cognitive process. Intelligence metrics. Genetics and self-organizing systems. Memory mechanisms. The psychological basis of learning and behavior. Prerequisite: ApSc 115; CSCI 174, CSCI 212. (Spring, odd years)
