CS lecturer Dr. Hurriyet Ok and team won First Prize at 2018 Public Safety Broadband Stakeholder conference

Professional lecturer Dr. Hurriyet Ok and his team, LookOnVRTU, won First Prize at the 2018 Public Safety Broadband Stakeholder conference, held June 8 in San Diego, CA. Dr. Ok founded VRT-U, an AR/VR technology start-up, and teamed up with LookOnMedia, a VR development studio in Baltimore, MD, to design the Heads-Up-Display Navigation (HUD) prototype that won First Prize. The LookOnVRTU team created a user interface solution for firefighters. The competition was a First Responder Virtual Reality (VR) Heads-up-Display (HUD) Navigation Challenge hosted by the NIST Public Safety Communications Research Program.
